The number one seeds enter the fray. Are they ready?
It’s the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, the best eight teams in the country giving our American football bettors some extremely exciting matchups. As always here at 10bet, we have 100s of markets available to you on these big games, and we’ve scoured them all to pick out three good value options that might interest you this weekend.
Rams at Packers: Robert Tonyan to score?
The first game of the weekend promises to be quite the spectacle, the Los Angeles team making the trip to the frozen tundra of Green Bay for an encounter that is expected to be played in subzero temperatures. That will almost certainly be a factor, but so too will how the passing game of the Packers – which has torn through the NFL this entire season – deals with the incredibly focused defence of the Rams.
Aaron Donald will terrorise the offensive line, while in the secondary the brilliant Jalen Ramsey will almost certainly look to negate receiver Davante Adams. The Packers star led the league with 18 receiving touchdowns, but his team only needs to look at the impact this defence had on the Seahawks and DK Metcalf in the Wildcard round for evidence that they might need to find alternatives.
Perhaps no QB in the world is better equipped to do that than Aaron Rodgers, a player who has spent his entire career exploiting advantageous matchups to lead the Packers to victories. That could see TE Robert Tonyan become a focal point, and he has shown himself more than capable of doing so already this season where he has bagged 11 touchdowns, a tally bettered by only four other players.
Ravens at Bills: Stefan Diggs to lead the way?
Having battled to overcome the Indianapolis Colts last weekend, Buffalo welcomes the Ravens to Orchard Park in what promises to be a bruising encounter between two offences who really showed their qualities last week.
Baltimore showcased their devastating running game led by QB Lamar Jackson as they squashed the Tennessee Titans, but it is the all-conquering Bills who really caught the eye in recent weeks.
Their own QB has made a huge leap over the past year, Josh Allen catapulting his name into the upper echelon of true stars who can dominate no matter who they are playing against. Crucial to the passing game he orchestrates is WR Stefan Diggs who arrived from Minnesota in the off season and led the NFL in receiving yards in 2020.
Buccaneers at Saints: Old men to run up the score?
Two absolute superstar players go head-to-head one more time as Drew Brees – who celebrates his 42nd birthday on January 15 – meets long-time foe 43-year-old Tom Brady. “That's 85 years and a lot of football experience that's gonna be on the field on Sunday," Brees noted when asked about a meme his opposite number shared on social media earlier in the week.
Yet behind all the jokes is an abundance of quality that could see this clash at the Superdome in New Orleans become something of a shootout for the ages. The two teams each scored a total of 59 touchdowns this season, a tally better only by the Packers (66), Titans (62) and Bills (60).
That all indicates we could see a high scoring game this weekend, which is why we’re looking at the over/under points total as our tip for this game.
